Queensland Girl Guides Celebrate World Thinking Day!

Girl Guides Queensland’s Tropical North Region recently celebrated World Thinking Day, an event that celebrates international friendship while speaking out on issues that affect girls and young women globally.
The region’s World Thinking Day event took place on Sunday 24 February at Innisfail, with more than 100 girls from over 10 districts in attendance. Each Guide took part in activities from the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) 2019 World Thinking Day booklet, which included various games and challenges to complete.

Also represented at this year’s World Thinking Day was Girl Guides’ Hamilton Clayfield District, which took part in a Sunday morning church service. Approximately 12 girls and six leaders attended the service at St Mary’s Church in Kangaroo Point Brisbane, with one Guide reading a Lesson out loud and another leading the Guide Flag procession.

Over 4,000 Queensland Girl Guides attended World Thinking Day events from 16 regions and 146 districts.
Girl Guides is open to girls five years + and focuses on girl-led, cooperative learning.
